Dee River Kayaking can give family and friends paddling groups support to have the best possible time getting out and enjoying being on the water.  All our sessions are private, just for your group, so we can be fully flexible and organise it bespoke to your perfect trip.

On age limits: 
-Young children aged 4-8 are welcome to join a trip with a parent on a Private Chester Kayaking Tour, which takes place on beautiful calm water, and they will share a boat with an adult.

-From aged 9, children tend to start being more capable of having a good time getting to grips with the boat on their own. 

From aged 12+ they can join any of our open group tours, accompanied by an adult. 

On white water:

-Children aged 12+ are welcome to join any of our whitewater tours such as the Chester Whitewater Session or Llangollen Wild Whitewater Tour, with their parent. They will control their own boat and love crashing through rapids with the support of our experienced tour leaders.

-In some cases, children aged 9-12 may join a white water tour in a tandem boat, but this may require additional staffing, and therefore an additional fee to cover this. Customers wishing to explore this option should get in touch with us to arrange the experience prior to booking.

Please note:

All of our Chester based trips launch from Sandy Lane Park.  This is a mobile operation that does not have a centre building. This means that we launch from a public space, and use a public toilet facility. For changing, we recommend all customers come in the outfit they'd like to wear on the water and bring an XL towel or changing robe to allow them to change out of their wet clothes afterwards.
